7080 Steering Cylinder

The 7080 steering cylinder is a durable, solid cylinder that offers strength and flexibility in sizing and rudder movement for marine vessels, available in balanced and unbalanced versions.

For balanced, the 7080 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming a single cylinder at 1,000 PSI (69 bar) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 2,603 to 5,561 lbs. ft. (359 to 770 kg/m)  /  1,825 to 3,892 lbs. ft. (252 to 539 kg/m)
Stroke: 7.5″ to 16″ (191 mm to 406 mm)
Displacement: 43.8 in3 to 93.4 in(718 cm3 to 1,531 cm3)

For unbalanced, the 7080 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming two cylinders at 1,000 PSI (69 bar) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 5,763 to 12,292 lbs. ft. (798 to 1,702 kg/m)  /  4,033 to 8,603 lbs. ft. (557 to 1,191 kg/m)
Stroke: 7.5″ to 16″ (191 mm to 406 mm)
Displacement: 96.8 in3 to 206.6 in3 (1,586 cm3 to 3,386 cm3)

Kobelt requires a steering gear torque or rudder calculation be done before sizing or ordering any steering system, to ensure the correct mix of pressure, displacement, stroke, parts and torque.
