7090 Steering Cylinder

The 7090 steering cylinder is a durable, solid cylinder that offers strength and flexibility in sizing and rudder movement for marine vessels. Made for large rudder sizes and twin tiller arms, the 7090 is only available in an unbalanced version.

For unbalanced, the 7090 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges. Assuming two cylinders at 2,000 PSI (138 bar) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 52,960 to 105,990 lbs. ft. (7,322 to 14,654 kg/m) / 37,080 to 74,220 lbs. ft. (5,127 to 10,261 kg/m)
Stroke: 16″ to 32″ (406 mm to 813 mm)
Displacement: 445 in3 to 891 in3 (7,297 cm3 to 14,600 cm3)

Kobelt requires a steering gear torque or rudder calculation be done before sizing or ordering any steering system, to ensure the correct mix of pressure, displacement, stroke, parts and torque.
