7065 Steering Cylinder
The 7065 steering cylinder is a durable, solid cylinder that offers strength and flexibility in sizing and rudder movement for marine vessels, available in balanced and unbalanced versions. The 7065 is also available in a Full Power Follow-Up version, the 7065-S.
For balanced, the 7065 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming a single cylinder at 1,000 PSI (69 bar) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.
Torque: 2,454 to 3,926 lbs. ft. (340 to 543 kg/m) / 1,718 to 2,749 lbs. ft. (238 to 380 kg/m)
Stroke: 10″ to 16″ (254 mm to 406 mm)
Displacement: 41 in3 to 66 in3 (672 cm3 to 1,082 cm3)
For unbalanced, the 7065 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming two cylinders at 1,000 PSI (69 bar) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.
Torque: 5,375 to 8,599 lbs. ft. (744 to 1,190 kg/m) / 3,763 to 6,021 lbs. ft. (521 to 833 kg/m)
Stroke: 10″ to 16″ (254 mm to 406 mm)
Displacement: 90 in3 to 144 in3 (1,475 cm3 to 2,360 cm3)
Kobelt requires a steering gear torque or rudder calculation be done before sizing or ordering any steering system, to ensure the correct mix of pressure, displacement, stroke, parts and torque.
A repair kit is available.
